The Nacra 17 fleet raced in the afternoon with a medium breeze and small waves, it was a perfect day with great conditions and after six races countries with a strong multihull culture such as the Netherlands and France are on top.
Laser Radial sailor Alison Young and the new 470 women's pairing of Sophie Weguelin and Eilidh McIntyre were the stand-out British performers on a breezy first day at the Princess Sofia World Cup regatta in Palma on Monday (1 April).
Set to be held at US Sailing Center Miami from 26 January to 2 February 2013, the regatta will form part of the ISAF Sailing World Cup until 2016 and will be the second stop in the 2012-2013 series following on from
Melbourne, Australia and preceding Palma, Spain and Hyeres, France.
