In fact, the Birmingham Blitz Derby Dames have managed the feat twice in little more than two months by beating European rivals Stuttgart Valley Rollergirlz 71-98 on Saturday in a grudge roller derby rematch billed as the New Year’s Massacre.
For the Dames, who represent the West Midlands league in international roller derby competition, it was their sixth inter-league match.

And it was their first game away from their home at Cocks Moors Wood Leisure Centre, in Kings Heath, where they beat Stuttgart in November last year.
Last Saturday’s match in Stuttgart produced one of BBDD’s finest performances and fourth inter-league win, making them one of the most successful teams on the continent since European Roller Derby began in 2006.

Blocker Michelle Duffy, who skates as Diamondback Belle, said: “We pulled ahead on points early in the game.

“Stuttgart closed the margin in the second half but we still won by a decisive margin.
“It was a really exciting game with a fantastic home crowd for Stuttgart.”
Next up are the Glasgow Rollergirls away on Saturday, February 21, before home bouts against the Middlesbrough Milk Rollers on Saturday, March 21, and the Leeds Roller Dolls on Saturday, April 18.

The Dames are actively recruiting and training women aged over 18 from experienced ice or roller skaters to complete novices.
