MUNICH (EuroLeague Women) - Mersin staged a remarkable comeback to claim their first-ever EuroLeague Women victory with a 65-61 triumph over Famila Schio.
It was a torrid start for the Turkish side as they found themselves in a 0-17 hole after the opening six minutes.
However, Mersin gradually battled back and despite still trailing by double-digits at the end of the third, they put together a 13-0 start to the fourth to take the lead before holding on down the stretch.
Gintare Petronyte finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds to help Mersin end a run of 10 straight defeats in the competition.
Meanwhile, Dynamo Kursk came through a major test of their unbeaten record as they eventually secured an 86-79 win over Fenerbache.
The Group A leaders were down 11 at the half against one of their closest challengers before a blistering 35-13 third period changed the game in their favor.
Nnemkadi Ogwumike tallied a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards whilst Angel McCoughtry top scored with a game-high 23 points.
"Today the best player of Dynamo is the whole team - each player contributed in the victory," declared Kursk head coach, Lucas Mondelo.
"At the beginning of the game, we missed easy shots and Fenerbache were very good on offense, but we changed the game-plan and it worked."
ZVVZ USK Prague held off a fightback from BLMA to improve to 9-2 with a 55-58 win on the road as Kia Vaughn contributed a team-high 18 points as they booked their spot in the Last Eight. The win confirms they will continue playing in the post-season.
In Group B, UMMC Ekaterinburg remain the front-runners after powering their way to a 63-97 victory away at Bourges Basket to end a run of four straight wins for the French side.
Nadezhda pulled clear in the second half for a comfortable 69-89 success at Uniqa Sopron with Amanda Zahui posting a spectacular double-double of 25 points along with 15 rebounds.
Vanessa Gidden netted 24 points and added 9 rebounds to help Wisla Can-Pack to their third victory as they defeated Uni Gyor 66-47 to leave the visitors 1-10.
Perfumerias Avenida moved above .500 with their second win in as many weeks as they denied CCC Polkowice a second successive scalp with a 71-75 victory, while Hatay BB edged out ESBVA-LM 71-72 on the road.
Courtney Paris posted an impressive 25 points and 14 rebounds to lead Hatay to their fourth win and keep them in the Play-Off hunt.
