GREAT BRITAIN WOMEN MAKE WINNING START TO CHALLENGE TROPHY

GB Women made a great start to their European Challenge Trophy campaign when they beat host
nation Cyprus in their opening match at Larnaca on Wednesday.

Leading 14-9 at half time, the team went on to win 29-17 against a side who finished third in the
Challenge Trophy last time.

“We were able to put what we have been training into the game,” said head coach Jesper Holmris.

“Especially in fast breaks and defence.”

Every player gave 100 per cent, and their commitment reaped rewards early in the game as they
opened up a two goal lead.
