Gloucestershire golfers Hannah Barwood and Sian James will represent England in the Nations Cup event at the Helen Holm Scottish open strokeplay championship at Troon this weekend.
Both players are members of English Women’s Golf Association squads.
Hannah (right), 17, from Knowle Golf Club, is an England girl international who has won the English schools championship three times in the last four years. She is also a past winner of the English girls U15 championship.
Sian (left), 19, from Bristol & Clifton Golf Club, was a semi-finalist in the 2007 English mid-amateur championship and a reserve for the Home International matches of 2006. She also twice won the south-west girls’ championship.
The Helen Holm will be played at Troon from Friday, April 25, to Sunday, April 27. In last year’s championship Derbyshire’s Melissa Reid won the individual title for the second year in a row and paired up with Hampshire’s Kerry Smith to win the Nations Cup by seven shots. Melissa now plays on the Ladies European Tour.
