Togo against Cote d'Ivoire in the final of the men competition

Lome, Togo, November 7, 2010 - Ghana's women claimed the gold medal in the CAVB Continental Beach Volleyball Cup Sub Zonal Pool B in Lome, Togo from November 5-7.

The tournament saw four countries participate with two teams from each gender as Togo, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Burkina Faso played a total of 31 matches to start the African ranking through this sub zonal tournament, part of the qualification for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The competition was held in a country vs. country single elimination with a consolation format. The winner of each match got two points and the loser one point as well as five points for the participation.  

 
The women competition saw Ghana defeating Cote d’Ivoire 3-1 in the first round before they downed Togo 4-0 in the final. Cote d’Ivoire clinched the bronze medal after they outlasted Burkina Faso in the losers draw.
