Former Masters, U.S. Open Champion Brandi Hunt To Spearhead USA Water Ski GrassRoots Program
POLK CITY, Fla. – USA Water Ski is pleased to announce that former U.S. Elite Water Ski Team member Brandi Hunt (Clermont, Fla.) will spearhead USA Water Ski’s revamped GrassRoots program.
Hunt, a former Masters and U.S. Open women’s overall champion, will be responsible for promoting and marketing USA Water Ski’s GrassRoots Series, including managing the annual budget, developing and executing a formal marketing plan, actively pursuing event organizers, and cultivating business partnerships.
The revamped and re-energized USA Water Ski GrassRoots Series aims to promote a fun, family experience and cultivate novice water sports enthusiasts. The new series also is loaded with benefits that will aid the local organizing clubs.
“Brandi’s strengths align well with our objectives, and we are confident that she can help us take the GrassRoots program to the next level,” said Steve Locke, USA Water Ski’s executive director. “Her background as an athlete and ability to relate to people garners respect from industry personnel, and gives her a platform that will demand the attention of local organizing clubs.”
USA Water Ski announced earlier this year that it is now offering a GrassRoots Membership. For $35, a GrassRoots member can participate in an unlimited number of grassroots events (i.e. grassroots tournaments, fun days, clinics, practices and ski show exhibitions). GrassRoots members also will receive three issues of The Water Skier magazine, a Regional Guide and all of the additional benefits an Active member receives.
The GrassRoots Membership gives event organizers an affordable annual membership option to attract the millions of towed water sports enthusiasts on public and private waterways across the country. Additionally, for each GrassRoots member who signs up through a sanctioned event, USA Water Ski will
