Beijing, China, August 14, 2008 - FIVB President Dr. Rubén Acosta and his wife Malú were joined by the Vice President of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, and his wife at the Women's Olympic Volleyball match between China and Cuba on Wednesday.


 

It was the first time Vice President Xi had visited a venue of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

 

Also attending the match were Mr. He Guoquiang, Member of the Permanent Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party, Mrs. Chen Zhili, Vice President of the National People's Congress, and Mr. Ma Kai, General Secretary of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.


 

Cuba rallied from two sets down to beat reigning Olympic champions China in front of 13,000 spectators at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing in the Pool A match.
