Fear and Lothian comes to Birmingham

This will be the first home bout at the Blitz Dames new home, Aston Arena (the former Aston Villa Leisure Centre). The Aston Arena is under new management and aims to become the home for Birmingham’s rollersports. The Blitz Dames and their fans are looking forward to taking advantage of its slick skating floor and the bar overlooking the track.

The Birmingham Blitz Derby Dames are limbering up for their final bout of the season against Edinburgh’s formidable Auld Reekie Roller Girls.

Last weekend saw the Blitz Dames travel to London to take on the might of the London Roller Girls’ London Brawling team.  After a courageous effort by both teams, London battled their way to victory, final score LRG 249 – BBDD 20.

Vice Captain, Union Jack-U-Up, said, “We fought hard and had a great time in London but we’re now looking forward to our next bout; gunning for victory against Auld Reekie”.

As well as training to beat the Scots, the Blitz Dames are hard at work preparing for the European Championships, to be held in London this July, where they’ll skate against teams from across the UK, Germany and France.

Tickets are now on sale through their website at www.blitzdames.com.
