Fairweather wins The Downhill National Junior Championships Ladies

The Women's Junior Downhill saw a high rate of attrition from an
already small entry. One big jump near the top of the course caused
major problems for girls who misread their racing line. Only two
British girls managed to complete the course.

Sega Fairweather (17, Swadlincote), who trains with a ski racing
academy programme at Burke Mountain in the USA lifted the Women's
Junior title ahead of Swiss based Liz Stevenson (17, Villars).

"It was hard in some places, but I tend to like this aggressive snow
that it is on this course. I made the jump OK which I was happy
about." said Fairweather, who has trained with the American programme,
among whose aulumni is US Ski Team World Cup slalom racer Chip Knight.
