All Results

Austria win again

In the third game of the tournament Austria booked the second victory. The team, again lead by Sonja Frey, was too strong for Ukraine: 24-29.
In the first half it all looked very simple for Austria. With quick, creative handball, the team took a 10-17 lead by half time. But in the second half Ukraine came back, with some beautiful shots (Iuliia Andriichuk) and breaks (Ivanna Myhovych). Suddenly it was 17-18, with chances for both sides. But then Sonja Frey stood up, scored four times in a row, and it was done with Ukraine.

Player of the match for Austria was elected, not very surprising, Sonja Frey. For Ukraine the honours went for the second time to Iuliia Andriichuk.

Norway out, third victory for Netherlands

Defending champion Norway is no longer candidate for a medal at the European Championships Ladies <19. The Scandinavian team, hit by many injuries, lost in Arnhem to The Netherlands: 25-31. Halfway Norway led by one goal: 13-12. Lois Abbingh was again the dutch topscorer, after 3 matches she already made 31 goals. In the main round Netherlands plays against Romania (tuesday) and Spain (wednesday).
