Germany's U19s took on England this afternoon in a repeat of the final of 12 months ago when Maren Meinert's side required extra-time to clinch their second successive UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship.

Marie Pollmann was the difference between the two sides as the German number nine bagged a brace to defeat Mo Marley's side. Pollmann opened the scoring on 35 minutes with a venomous 25 yard shot that flashed past the reach of England 'keeper Rebecca Spencer.

And it was Pollmann who sealed victory with a second goal on 59 minutes, getting onto the end of Kim Kulig's cross to extend Germany's lead.

Sweden meanwhile scored a goal in the fourth minute of added time to defeat Scotland 2-1, setting up a very tasty Auld Enemy clash on Thursday, with both sides looking for a win to set up an intriguing battle to reach the semi-finals.
