England Hockey League Update

Chelmsford and Leicester’s match, re-arranged from November due to a frozen pitch, is the only Premier Division action this weekend as they go head to head at Chelmer Park on Saturday.

In Women’s Division One, Sunderland, who lead the league by just one point, face a trip to London, away to eighth placed Barnes HE, whilst Trojans head up to the University of Birmingham hoping to usurp Sunderland or at least continue to apply the pressure. Durham University and Reading,

Promoted into the league as champions from National North and National South Division’s respectively, face off at Sonning lane. First plays third as free scoring Cannock host Liverpool Sefton in Women’s National North Division whilst Whitley Bay and Tynemouth, who lay sandwiched between the two, look forward to hosting seventh placed Ben Rhydding. Bedford and Cambridge City face a traditional ‘six pointer’ in Bedfordshire, the team are both locked in relegation spots and three points would be vital to either’s chances of survival.

In the Women’s National South Division frontrunners Staines, who lead the league by a margin of eight points, host eighth placed Horsham, a side that will be hoping to move away from the relegation battle.
