There was activity in all eight divisions of the Slazenger EHL this weekend, including a double header weekend for the Women’s National North and National South Divisions. It was a weekend which offered a sting in the tail for several of the league leaders, with the chasing packs applying considerable pressure. At the lower end of the tables, teams were picking up valuable points against each other in the traditional ‘six pointer’ games. As the icy cold of winter begins to set, and the winter break looms ever closer, the push for establishing dominance, asserting intention, and assuring safety becomes ever more important. Questions are asked of players in all aspects of the game, travel, skill, fitness and commitment; in the next few weeks we’ll start to see more answers nearing the midway point of the season.
