Conference South side Bishops Stortford FC will host an international friendly between England Women’s U17s and Denmark on Friday 21 September. Kick-off is at 7.30pm.

The Hertfordshire club’s Woodside Park ground will see some of England’s most talented young females warm up ahead of the first qualifying round of the inaugural UEFA Women’s U17 Championship.

The club is no stranger to hosting top women’s football fixtures, after hosting The FA Women’s Cup semi final between Arsenal and Charlton Athletic in March 2006 when a crowd of 1,100 saw Arsenal win 2-1 in extra time.

The Three Lions travel to Georgia in October to take on Russia, Slovakia and Georgia, with a second qualifying round phase in April 2008. The final tournament will be held in late May 2008, with the top three European nations qualifying for the first FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup, to be held in New Zealand.

England’s Head Coach for the first fixture of 2007/08 will be Birmingham City Ladies’ Laura Harvey, with Lois Fidler part of Hope Powell’s World Cup scouting team in China.

The two sides played each other twice in the space of three days in October 2006, when England emerged 3-1 victors in the first game, followed by a 3-3 draw.

Denmark’s senior women’s team like England’s, are also competing in the sixth FIFA Women’s World Cup in China between 10-30 September.

Tickets for the U17 international are on sale now priced £3 for adults and £1 for concessions. Tickets can be purchased from the Bishops Stortford ticket office or by calling the ticket hotline on               08700 339930       .

Special group discounts are available for groups of over 15, with tickets costing just 50 per person, and booking forms can be downloaded at the links above.
