University of Bath-based athlete Eilidh Child has been named Scottish
Athlete of the Year for 2013.

The London 2012 Olympic collected the honour at a scottishathletics and
jogscotland dinner in Glasgow on Saturday night.

It came towards the end of a terrific year for Eilidh, who is coached in
Bath by Malcolm Arnold, British Athletics Lead Hurdles Coach.

Eilidh won 400m silver and helped the GB 4x400m relay quartet to gold at the
European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg and followed that up with fifth
place in the 400m hurdles and bronze in the 4x400m at the World
Championships in Moscow.

Her performances in 2013 have already earned her selection for the Scotland
team for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

That means she gets the opportunity to perform at two Œhome¹ Games in as
many years, after competing at the London 2012 Olympics.

Malcolm Arnold's training group in Bath also includes Dai Greene, Lawrence
Clarke, Andrew Pozzi and Jack Green.
