HTML clipboard Las Leonas, ( "The Lionesses") Argentina, beat World Ranked First, the Netherlands, in thrilling finish to the Samsung FIH Champions Trophy final ( their third Trophy win in a row) in no mean part due to the scoring ability of Maria Noel Barrionuevo who netted a hat trick and equalled three Trophy records in the same day. She became only the second player to score in all six games of the Champions Trophy Tournament, a feat previously achieved in the first year of the competition by Australia’s Jackie Pereira. She also equalled the record for the highest number of penalty corner goals in Champions Trophy games. She has now taken her tally to 19 goals matching her now retired team mate Alejandra Gulla. Noel also won an award for the highest number of goals scored in the tournament. The 8 goals she scored equals Korea’s Kye-Sook tally from 1987.
