Diamonds defeat Jamaica 63-51 in their first Test in Kingston

The Australian Netball Diamonds have won the first battle against the
Jamaican Sunshine Girls today as part of the Three-Test Series in
Kingston. In a physical contest, the Diamonds controlled the game
throughout, winning 63 goals to Jamaica's 51.

Quarter by Quarter scores:

Q1 15 (Aus) 12 (Jam)

Q2 32 (Aus) 25 (Jam)

Q3 48 (Aus) 36 (Jam)

Q4  63 (Aus) 51 (Jam)

Starting 7: GS Sharelle McMahon (Captain) GA Natalie Medhurst, WA
Madison Browne, C Natalie von Bertouch (Vice Captain) WD Kimberlee Green
GD Rebecca Bulley, GK Susan Fuhrmann

Changes: Q3 Cath Cox came on at GS, Nat Medhurst off and Sharelle
McMahon moved to GA

Quotes from Captain Sharelle McMahon:

'The game was more physical than what we're used to. There were a few
clashes but nothing out of the ordinary'

'I was reasonably pleased with my performance. Shooting over 80% is
always good. The game was very controlled, the timing was really nice
down the court and everyone was working well together. There were a few
new girls on court today so it was good for them to have a run out'

In the next games, we'll want to build on our performance today. I'm not
sure what Norma has planned yet for the next Test but I'm sure we'll be
wanting to build on today and also give some of the other girls a chance
to go out on court too.

Kim Green was out in WD today and did a good job there for her first
time for the Australian team and Natalie von Bertouch was nice and
steady, controlling centre court for us.'
