After the 5th day of the Roadtest for the 2007 Germany tour, which runs under the "Pro-Testfahrt für fairen Sport" title, the riders have put approximately 730 out of 1300 kilometres. From the start on 22nd June in Saarbruecken about 500 cyclists carried through all the way to the agreed first finish in Soelden (Austria), from where the tour continued on to the 2700 metre high "Rettenbachferner" mountain.
The Germany Tour director Kai Rapp has been very satisfied with the results of the event so far: "The main aim of the event to promote the Germany Tour as an initiative for "clean" sport has been surpassed already. The "Pro-Testfahrt" is only one small building block towards that goal however. We're very happy about the large number of partakers who aren't cyclists usually.
Since I'm going to cycle on the last two stages of the tour, I'm hoping for many likeminded individuals, who will support our action on Friday and Saturday and who will also help me to handle the higher peaks, in order to get back to the Finish line in Hannover!"
