Team GB’s Yngling trio of Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson put in another solid display on Sunday to see them extend their lead at the top of the results table.

The two-time World Champions once again showed their resilience in the difficult conditions to pick their way through the fleet from eighth at the first mark in the first race, and 14th at the first downwind leg in the second race to their finishing positions of 4,7 for the day.

“It was a tough day today,” the 22-year-old Wilson explained. “The breeze was really up and down and in different directions. We always keep calm and try to make the best of the situations we’ve got.

“Sailboat racing is always pretty hard – you never know what to expect. When you wake up in the morning, it could be anything, any wind strength, any direction and that’s what we love about sailing is the changes that happen.

“The conditions of the day meant you had to be quite strong with your positioning. There were a lot of changes happening on the racecourse for sure.”
