Cricket and Football stars try out Beach Volleyball

Stars from Sussex County Cricket Club and Brighton and Hove Albion will find out if their ball handling skills cross over to the sport of beach volleyball on Monday (1st September).

Organisers of the SWATCH FIVB Junior World Beach Volleyball Championships, which take place in Brighton next week, have challenged the players to go head to head in an all-star match on Monday at Nivea Sun Yellowave, Madeira Drive on Brighton seafront.

Cricketers Ollie Rayner and Chris Liddle will take on two Brighton and Hove Albion players. They will play in a three on three format with Great Britain female international players helping them out.


10am-12pm Sussex Games community event

Local school children (age 6-16) play at Yellowave, coached by Denise Austin and Matt Grinlaubs (GB coaches) and Jake and Luke Sheaf (GB players)

6-7pm Sussex CC vs Brighton and Hove

Coaching by Denise Austin, former GB International player and current GB coach

7-8.30pm Adult community event
