Craig Claims Fourth Aussie Title

Megan Craig clinched the fourth WSA World Tour title of her career after
winning the Tour 5 City Of Perth International Challenge 2013.

The No.3 seed dismissed *Jasmin Burnard *in the opening round, before
overcoming Frenchwoman *Julia Lecoq *in round two.  The New Zealander
continued her run, defeating unseeded *Sue Hillier *before battling to an
impressive five-game victory over top seed *Amanda Landers-Murphy *in the
semi-final.

In the final, the world No.52 faced Englishwoman *Carrie Ramsey*, who
reached the final of the NT Open two weeks ago.  Ramsey, seeded sixth for
the event, reached her second WSA final of the month after beating * Sonia
Pinter* and *Ar Huyn Kim* in the opening rounds, before scalping higher
seed *Milou Van Der Heijden*, last week’s Alice Springs Open runner-up.  A
straight-games win over *Christine Nunn* in the semi-final put Ramsey into
the second WSA final of her career.

20-year-old Craig, with five WSA finals already under her belt, utilised
her experience against the lower ranked player, and took a strong lead in
the opening game.  Ramsey, ranked 14 places below the Kiwi, was unable to
cope with the pressure asserted by Craig, and the New Zealand player
clinched her fourth title in a dominant fashion.
