Elodie Clouvel (FRA) has posted one of the fastest time is history to win the swimming at the Women’s World Championships Final.
“This is my fastest ever time. I am so happy. I have been training very hard, so this time is satisfying. I could feel Sam (Murray) behind me so I just kept on going. I am now just focusing on my ride.” Stated an ecstatic Clouvel.
Sam Murray (GBR) continued her impressive swimming form to finish in 2nd, a second behind Clouvel which pushes her into 5th position.
Sarolta Kovacs (HUN) made up for her poor fence to finish 3rd and move up to 9th.
Olympic Champion Lena Schoneborn had dropped off the pace and sitting in 10th position. The World #1 will have to one of her trademark comebacks if she is going to win her 1st World Championships title.
The winner of the fencing, Amelie Caze posted a respectable time of 2:13.21 to maintain the lead, which is still a massive 92 points, so the Frenchwomen is still in the box seat for the 4th gold medal.
