China's women's team dominated on the last day of qualifications at the 45th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Nanning (CHN). Sandwiched between the teams of USA and Russia, the hosts finished in second rank with a team total of 230.753 points. Great Britain's team performance earned them 224.596 points and they qualified in rank four.

The women's Team Final that will take place at the Guangxi Sports Centre Gymnasium on Wednesday will be completed by Italy (222.459), Japan (221.360), Romania (219.261) and Australia (218.134). Germany who ranked ninth and will miss out on the final was outscored by just over one point by Team Australia who competed in the second to last subdivision.

Romania's Larisa Iordache (58.365) and China's Yao Jinnan (58.032) were the most successful All-around gymnasts on Monday, finishing third and fourth respectively behind Simone Biles (USA) and Aliya Mustafina (RUS), who competed on Sunday.

Teams and gymnasts earned berths to the finals based on their performances in these preliminaries. The top eight teams advance to the Team Final; the top 24 All-around gymnasts (maximum two per national federation) advance to the All-around final; and the top eight gymnasts on each apparatus (maximum two per national federation) advance to the respective Apparatus Finals. Scores will not be carried over to the finals, where gymnasts will start from scratch.

Only the top 24 men's and women's teams in Nanning will advance to the 2015 World Championships in Glasgow (GBR), where the top eight teams will earn berths to Rio in 2016.
