SANTIAGO (FIBA Americas Championship for Women) - Chile's women's team will embark on a tour of Europe as a warm-up for the FIBA Americas Championship they are hosting next month.
It is the first time a Chilean national team will tour abroad to prepare for a major championship, according to the Chilean Basketball Federation (FeBaChile).
The team will play four friendlies against the Portuguese national team in Portugal before travelling to France to face a yet-to-be-named club side.
FeBaChile, who have not announced the dates of the games, added that Chile will return home on August 23 to start a new stage of training five days later.
The FIBA Americas Championship, the Olympic Qualifier tournament, will take place in Valdivia, Chile from September 26 to 30.
