The Australian Diamonds have received a boost ahead of the Constellation Cup decider with captain Laura Geitz returning for the fourth and final Test against New Zealand at Perth Arena on Friday night.
Geitz, who was initially rested for the Australian leg of the Constellation Cup series against the Silver Ferns, has joined the Diamonds in Perth on Wednesday as the team prepares for the final Test of the year.
Leading the Constellation Cup series 2-1, the Diamonds can secure the title for the fifth time in six years with a victory.
Geitz missed the third Test played in Melbourne on Sunday.
However a calf strain to vice-captain Renae Ingles in the opening Test in Christchurch and foot soreness to shooter Caitlin Bassett, who was substituted at half-time in Melbourne on Sunday, has seen Geitz recalled for the deciding Test.
"With a few players yet to pass fitness tests ahead of Friday's Constellation Cup final Test, Laura has joined us in Perth to provide cover," Diamonds coach Lisa Alexander said.
"We're giving that pair until the final minute to prove their fitness and availability for selection; however we're not willing to take risks should they not be 100 per cent."
The Diamonds will name their 12-player team for the fourth Test of the 2015 Constellation Cup on Thursday evening.
The Australian Diamonds host the New Zealand Silver Ferns on Friday at Perth Arena from 6.30pm (WST). Catch all the action live on FOX SPORTS, Network Ten and via the Netball Live app, free to download from the App Store and Google Play.
