British swimmers compete at the British Gas International, the first international event on home soil since London 2012.

Some of the biggest names in world swimming competed at the inaugural British Gas International Meet in Leeds, the first international swimming event on home soil since London 2012.

Four-time Paralympic gold medallist Ellie Simmonds, world short course 400 IM champion Hannah Miley, Plymouth-based Olympic 100m breaststroke champion Ruta Meilutyte were among the stars in the pool at the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds.

It’s been a great opportunity for the public to show support for Britain’s best swimmers at the start of an exciting year, which will culminate in a battle for World Championship medals at the FINA Long Course World Championships in Barcelona and the IPC Swimming World Championships in Montreal this summer.
