British Lifters prepare for European Championships

BRITISH weightlifters Helen Jewell and Natasha Perdue are in Kasan, Russia, preparing to lift in the European Championships later this week.

The duo, who are both based at British Weight Lifting’s High Performance Centre in Leeds, both took part in last year’s championships and will be looking to improve on their 2010 performances as they continue their preparation for the Olympics next year.

Jewell, 22 and from Devon, finished eighth in the 58kg category last year and will lift tomorrow, April 13, at 12noon.

Perdue lifts on Friday, April 15, and the 35-year-old from Swansea will compete in the 69kg class.
