British Handball receives massive boost from Headquarters
BRITISH Handball’s aim to give the sport a higher profile on the back of the London Olympics in 2012 received a massive boost this week after key officials from both the International and European Handball Federations came to London to offer their support.
In a day-long meeting at Heathrow, Dr Hassan Moustafa, President of the International Handball Federation, and Tor Lian, President of the European Handball Federation, both vowed to offer whatever help and support was necessary to ensure that the sport of handball grows in popularity in Britain and across the Englishspeaking world. And in a show of solidarity, after the talks all parties came together to give a resume of the talks to Liz Nichol, Chief Operating Officer of UK Sport, and representatives from Sport England and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games.
