British Cycling Names Strong Team for UCIPara-Cycling Track World Championships

British Cycling has today announced the team of femal riders who will compete at the UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships in Los Angeles, taking place on 9-12 February 2012.

 

 

The team consist of Paralympic Champions –  Sarah Storey and Aileen McGlynn.

 

Performance Manager Gareth Sheppard said: “The World Championships in LA are the final qualification event for the 2012 London Paralympic Games and we have selected a strong team to maximise medal opportunities and bring back vital qualification points.

 

 

“Next time we meet our opponents will be on the boards of the London Velodrome in August, so LA is also the final opportunity for our track riders to measure their performance against the competition and we are looking forward to some exciting British performances.”

 

 

Female Team

 

 

Aileen McGlynn (B/Vi), piloted by Helen Scott – Kilo, Pursuit, Sprint

 

Sarah Storey (C5) – 500TT, Pursuit

 

Lora Turnham (B/Vi), piloted by Fiona Duncan – Kilo, Pursuit
