BRA – Nascimento thrilled with opportunity to play in Thailand

RIO DE JANEIRO (FIBA U19 World Championship for Women) - Nothing could be more exciting for Tatiane Nascimento at this stage of her young career than to put on the Brazil shirt.

The 18-year-old forward will do just that this summer in Thailand when her country competes in the FIBA U19 World Championship for Women.

“It gives me pride to be in the national team,” Nascimento said.

“There are few athletes that get the chance to go to a World Championship and those who have that opportunity, they have to grab it with their teeth and nails, giving everything they have in training.

“With unity and commitment, we can represent Brazil well in Thailand and play a beautiful World Championship.”

Brazil’s coach is Luiz Claudio Tarallo, and he will train the team in Jundiai until July 8.

They will then fly to Lisbon for a four-team tournament that includes Cape Verde, Mozambique, Angola and hosts Portugal before leaving for Bangkok to compete in Group B with the Czech Republic, Lithuania and hosts Thailand.
