BRA - Catanduva stay at summit

Catanduva showed no mercy as Ariadna top-scored with 27 points - 11 of 16 in two-pointers - while Karla netted 22 points.

The visitors slightly edged a tight first half ending the second quarter 44-42 ahead but poured in 19 and 21 points in the next two periods to comfortably win the game.

"It was a tight game until the beginning of the third quarter, when we played calm and began to up our pace," said Ariadna. "We counter-attacked with speed and we managed to achieve a good 18-point advantage."

Elsewhere, Sport romped to two consecutive home triumphs, destroying Botafogo 102-58 on Saturday and Teresopolis 88-55 on Sunday.

"This was our second victory in a row at home," said Sport power forward Nerilucy after the Teresopolis defeat."Playing with the fans supporting us all the time made thing easier for us.

"During the first half we had to fight a lot. But in the third and fourth quarters we started to play better."

Santo Andre stormed to a 94-58 win over rock-bottom Fluminense, who now only have one victory in 10. Kattya scored 22 points for Santo Andre, but Flu Clarissa top-scored with 22.
