CATANDUVA (Women's Campeonato Nacional) - Catanduva and Ourinhos ensured both will go into their top-of-the-table clash defending 100% records after both claimed victories at the weekend.
The pair face off on Tuesday with each boasting a 7-0 record after Catanduva beat Florianopolis and Ourinhos saw off Sao Bernardo.
On Saturday, Edson Ferreto's Catanduva side trashed Florianopolis 97-51, with 18 points from Karla and 16 by Fabiana.
Ferreto said: "We played well particulary in offensive plays. I like that aspect a lot. Defence still needs to be fixed."
Reigning three-time champios Ourinhos, meanwhile, passed Sao Bernardo 83-74 as Iziane had a superb night on Saturday, pouring in 30 points.
Boss Paulo Bassul said: "It was a quite even game. Sao Bernardo played a good game and made things difficult for us by netting some three-pointers.
"Now it's time to fix some details ahead of the Catanduva game as it will surely define who is top of the table ahead of the play-offs."
Fluminense suffered a disappointing weekend, having losing 97-55 to Sport on Saturday and 84-81 to Botafogo on Sunday, both at home.
Teresopolis remain winless in the championship, having lost 60-44 at Santo Andre on Sunday afternoon.
