|TIMBERLINE, Ore. (July 11) Fellow U.S. Snowboarding rider Clair Bidez (Minturn, CO) trumped the women's field with the Best Trick, stomping a huge frontside 900 good enough for a new Mac Book Pro and third place behind 2002 Olympic gold medalist Kelly Clark (Mount Snow, VT). Sources say Clair is going to use the prize to help with her vocabulary homework this summer.|
As the first stop of the 2008 Ticket To Ride World Snowboarding Tour (TTR), the largest culmination of independent freestyle events across the globe, the Abominable Snow Jam is a five-star event where the top riders will earn points toward the overall TTR title awarded at the end of the season. Events range in caliber from one to six stars with more points available at heavier weighted events.
The Abominable Snow Jam wraps up Thursday with slopestyle, which is also a TTR five-star event. Following the comp, the overall winners for the three-day $140,000 contest will be named and cars and motorcycles will be given away - Scotty and Gretchen say they want in on that too.
