Eurosport achieved its best ever online audience ratings in the UK and France on Sunday, 1st February, which it attributed to coverage of events including the Australian Open tennis tournament.
Its network of websites attracted 2.1 million viewers in total on the day, with 600,000 in France and 700,000 in the UK. Eurosport’s websites include co-branded Yahoo/Eurosport websites in the UK, Germany, Italy, and Spain, and Eurosport.com websites in France, Poland, Russia, and Sweden. Other big events covered on the day included the Handball World Championships and local football leagues.
The broadcaster also achieved its best-ever Australian Open television ratings for this year's event, with 52 million different viewers watching at least one-minute of tournament across its pan-European network. Eurosport reports that 17.3 million viewers watched the final on its channels.
