ARG - Argentina women ready themselves for U19 Worlds in Chile

BUENOS AIRES (2011 FIBA U19 World Championship Women) - Argentina are stepping up their preparations ahead of this summer's FIBA U19 World Championship for Women as they look to build on the bronze medal performance of two years ago.

Argentina held a training camp earlier this month, regrouping their 20 best players at the National Center for High Performance Sports (CeNARD).

This came after a busy month of March during which the Argentinians played friendly games against this summer's tournament host, Chile, beating them 63-61 and 65-38.

They then competed in a quadrangular tournament where they got the better of Chile's U19 and U23 teams and lost to Brazil.

This summer, Argentina will open their campaign in Group B, taking on Japan, Russia and the United States.

ARGENTINA (squad for 4-8 April training camp): Daiana Acosta, Rocío Agromayor, Julieta Armesto, Diana Cabrera, Rocío Díaz, Mariana Favre, Celia Fiorotto, Melisa Gretter, Florencia Llorente, Carolina Martínez, Munay Martínez, Micaela Sancisi, Sabrina Scevola, Brenda Schmith, Natacha Spiatta, Natalia Teodori, Fernanda Melo, Andrea Kunkel, Macarena Durso y Melina Soriani.
