Acro Gymnast Tatiana Okulova, World Champion Mixed pair has been tested positive for drug taking

Moutier (SUI) / FIG Office, May 9, 2007: Standard antidoping controls carried out at the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Cup Final in Puurs (BEL), April 8 - 9, 2007, revealed two positive cases, the first for furosemide and the second for cannabis.

In keeping with the regulations in force, the FIG informed the responsible national federation for both cases, the Russian Federation in this instance. The Federation confirmed in writing having contacted gymnasts Tatiana Okulova (17 years old - Mixed Pairs category, Gold medal) and Stanislav Kotelnikov (25 years old - Men's Pairs category, Silver medal), and has decided not to appeal to the testing of the B flask.

In keeping with standard procedure, the FIG has forwarded the dossier to its Disciplinary Commission, which will give both gymnasts a chance to explain themselves prior to giving a ruling.
