16 teams locked and loaded for entertaining Girls Youth Worlds in Thailand

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, July 2, 2009 - Having completed long and sometimes exhausting trips to get here, all participating teams of the 2009 Girls' Youth World Championship are now ready for their first matches slated for tomorrow in both competition halls.

This morning, FIVB officials, local organizers and all delegations joined the General Technical Meeting that was carried out under the supervision of Control Committee President Katsumi Wakao of Japan.

Wakao expressed once again his pleasure to be back in Thailand for another first-class competition and, along with his colleagues, he went through the most important regulations to be respected for a successful Championship.

Hassan Mohamed of Egypt summed up a few key points related to the Rules of the Game - with special attention to the changes included in the very latest version of the document - as well as to match protocol, while Annie Peytavin stressed that special preventive measures have been put in place to control the unlikely event of an H1N1 virus outbreak.

Right after the technical meeting, all coaches joined an official press conference, whose highlights were aired all over Thailand, further proof of the great popularity that Volleyball currently enjoys here.
