EUROHOCKEY NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIPS SCORES A WINNER WITH RETAIL VILLAGE

Top brands such as Slazenger, Asics, TK, Obo, Grays, Mercian, Dita, Adidas, Malik and Tempest will all be showcasing their latest products at the tournament, which runs from 18-26th August at Belle Vue in Manchester.

The unique retail and hospitality village has been specially designed for the Championships in order to enhance the spectator experience, and despite there still being some six weeks to go to before the tournament gets under way there are only a handful of sales units still available.

EuroHockey Nations Championships Retail Manager, Steve Floyd commented, “We are extremely delighted with the uptake in bookings for the Retail Village. The positive response we have received is testament to the quality and popularity of the tournament. For those companies that haven’t yet signed up there are a couple of units still remaining but these are sure to go quickly.”

The EuroHockey Nations Championships sees both the men’s and women’s competitions running concurrently and is second only in terms of size to the hockey World Cup. There will be 8 teams competing in each of the men’s and women’s Championships and the top three teams of each tournament will be given direct qualification into the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

The England women’s team go into the tournament on a high having recently snatched the bronze medal in the Ata Holdings Champions Challenge Tournament in Azerbaijan with a thrilling 2-1 victory over the USA, while the men’s team are currently completing their preparations in the BDO Men’s Champions Challenge.
